February 25th is Clam Chowder Day. Chowder appeared in 1795 when it was originally made as a water-based fish soup of various thicknesses, obtained by adding onions, potatoes, and carrots. Today, it reached the status of a staple dish for many restaurants all over the United States. To celebrate this day, people head out to their favorite places to enjoy clam chowder or attempt to prepare their own recipe for dinner that day. Enjoy these flavors with a warm butter crouton and a dry, chilled glass of your favorite white wine!
