420: International Day for Cannabis-Related Protests and Events falls on April 20th every year. This marijuana holiday might have started in the 1970s among a group of Californian teenagers who smoked marijuana every day at 4:20. As the ritual spread, 420 became a code for smoking. While it used to be a counterculture holiday to protest the stigmas against marijuana, it is now celebrated by tens of thousands of Americans who gather in States where it has been legalized, such as Colorado or California. Festivities are becoming more mainstream and commercialized in support of marijuana legalization!
